Alexis Montang, LCSW, CCLS
Alexis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly a decade of experience supporting children, teens, and families through some of life's most challenging seasons.
She began her work in 2016 after earning her Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential, providing care in medical camps, hospitals, and hospice settings. These early experiences shaped her deep understanding of grief, loss, and the emotional impact of medical and life transitions on children and families.
Driven by a desire to support emotional healing beyond the medical setting, Alexis returned to school to earn her Master's degree in Social Work and subsequent licensure. She has worked in hospitals, educational settings, and community mental health centers, supporting individuals across a wide range of ages, diagnoses, and family systems.
Alexis' clinical work centers on helping families build secure attachments and supporting children and teens in developing emotional regulation skills. She has extensive experience working with families navigating chronic and terminal illness, grief, and loss, as well as those involved in intensive community-based services. Her approach is attachment-informed, developmentally appropriate, and grounded in creating safety, connection, and resilience.
In addition to her work with children and families, Alexis is passionate about supporting expecting and postpartum mothers as they navigate the transition into motherhood. She provides a compassionate space to process identity shifts, emotional challenges, and the balance between caring for oneself and caring for a child.
At Resilient Foundations Counseling, Alexis is committed to creating a warm, supportive environment where overwhelming emotions can find steady ground and individuals and families can begin to heal and grow together.
